The members of the Indian Shores Police Department will be starting a new initiative this year. We wish to reach out and build a better bond with the residents of our two communities, Indian Shores and Redington Shores, to let them know we are here for them.

We plan to host classes covering a variety of public safety topics. These classes will run between 1 – 2 hours each. We will see what seems to work best for community attendance, weekdays or weekends.

Our first class will be on Identity Theft/Fraud, hosted by John Bond, Financial Manager/Assistant Vice President of Fifth Third Bank, and assisted by Officers Cari Bittrich and Mike Bryan. With the criminals sitting around all day long thinking of ways to steal your money and/or identity, your education and awareness are the first steps to stop these crimes.

The class will be held in the Indian Shores 4th floor Municipal Center on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Everyone is welcome!

Our second class will be Active Aggressors (this can be a shooter, a person with edged weapons or just a hostile individual), and will be taught by Officer Ray DeCunto. We want the Community to have some tools to know what to do when they encounter these situations.

Active Aggressor is scheduled for Tuesday, April 3, 2018, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, in the Indian Shores 4th floor Municipal Center. Please join us.
