Lealman Exchange\n5175 45th Street N.\nSt. Petersburg\, FL 33714 \nThe Pinellas County Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) is a detailed plan that assesses various types of hazards. It evaluates the risks our communities face from both natural and manmade disasters. The LMS helps numerous jurisdictions manage projects that aim to reduce or even prevent the loss of life and property. Implementing this plan also allows local governments\, businesses\, non-profits and residents to qualify for federal funding. \nAdditionally\, the LMS acts as the county’s floodplain management plan. It earns credit under the Community Rating System (CRS) program\, which gives residents and property owners discounts on flood insurance premiums. \nThe Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires us to update the entire plan every five years. We need your help to keep this plan relevant by addressing the evolving risks that may bring harm to our communities. \nThis public workshop will provide information on hazards we face and seek citizen input on updating our plan to address them. \nWant to know more about the project?\nwww.pinellaslms.org or (727) 464-8200\nPinellas County complies with all federal\, state and local laws related to persons with disabilities. DESCRIPTION:Join us in Redington Shores Nature Park\, 17925 Gulf Blvd\, Redington Shores\, FL 33708 to celebrate the renewal of our beautiful Park! \nThursday\, May 23 @ 6 pm\nLight refreshments will be provided.\nRaffle prizes up for grabs! \nThe new name\, Nature Park (formerly Del Bello)\, reflects the town’s natural surroundings and inhabitants. \nThe new plants in Nature Park highlight Florida flora\, intended to be sustainable and attract fauna including pollinators such as butterflies and bees.  Additionally\, dolphins and manatees are often spotted in the adjacent bay.  Ospreys\, gulls\, terns and herons frequent the area. \nThe open areas in the park leave plenty of space for enjoying the outdoors by relaxing with a good book\, having a picnic or playing catch or corn hole. \nOur Town is exploring how best to use this park as a gathering place for our community.  Do you have ideas for events?  Please attend a Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee meeting or come to the Grand Re-Opening of Nature Park and share your ideas! \n  \nClick to enlarge
