ABOUT THE ALARM

Redington Shores/Indian Shores Police Department has initiated a new evacuation alarm system as part of our emergency management response system. Our Town’s alarm is in Constitution Park and when sounded can be heard from Madeira Beach to Indian Rocks Beach. In the event of a required evacuation, the alarm will sound repeatedly, and all residents, businesses and visitors should evacuate the island as soon as possible.

ALARM TESTING

The Evacuation Alarm will be tested monthly on the first Wednesday of the month at 12 PM (noon). The alarm will sound only once or twice.  This will be a test only and no action is necessary.

FUTURE PLANS

The intent is to enhance this system with both solar power and voice messaging. A radio operated message will accompany the alarm to clearly announce the reason for the alarm. We will let everyone know when these features are implemented.
