The Town of Redington Shores proudly announces the designation of May 19-25, 2024, as “Public Works Week” in recognition of the invaluable contributions of Public Works Professionals and their commitment to enhancing community well-being.

In a unanimous decision, the Town of Redington Shores issued a proclamation on May 8, 2024, highlighting the significance of Public Works Week. This weeklong event aims to raise public awareness of the essential services provided by Public Works Professionals, which significantly elevate the quality of life for all residents and visitors.

The proclamation extends sincere appreciation to all Public Works Professionals for their dedication to maintaining vital infrastructure, facilities, and services essential for sustainable and resilient communities. Specifically, it emphasizes their pivotal role in promoting public health, ensuring a high quality of life, and enhancing the well-being of the people of Redington Shores, Florida.

Presented to distinguished individuals Mike Pafumi, Mario Orlando, and Jose Berdecia, the proclamation was signed by Mayor Lisa Hendrickson, highlighting the Town’s gratitude for their tireless efforts.

The proclamation asserts the importance of fostering ongoing interest and understanding among citizens, civic leaders, and children in Redington Shores regarding the critical role of public works and its programs in community development.

Public Works Week is an annual event recognized nationwide by local governments and Public Works Departments, proudly sponsored by the American Public Works Association (APWA). With over 30,000 members, APWA stands as a unifying voice for professionals in all facets of Public Works, including those from local, county, state/province, and federal agencies, as well as private sector entities providing essential products and services. This year marks the 64th annual National Public Works Week!

Mike Pafumi, our Public Works Supervisor, has served the Town since February 2021. Mario Orlando, Service Technician, has served since April 2023. Jose Berdecia, Service Technician, has served since November 2022.
