Due to the appointment of Commissioner Tom Kapper to Mayor, the position of COMMISSIONER, DISTRICT 1 is being announced.

Pursuant to the Town’s Charter, the Town Commission must appoint a resident to serve out the remainder of the term, which would expire on the second Wednesday of March, 2026, or as soon thereafter as the results of the Commissioner election in March of 2026 are certified. The resident appointed to complete the term may run to retain the seat in March of 2026 if the appointee wishes to remain on the Commission.

To be eligible for appointment, you must be a current resident of Redington Shores in District 1 and have been a continuous resident of District 1 for the one year prior to your nomination, and a qualified registered voter of any district in the town. Interested residents are asked to submit a letter or email of interest to the Town Clerk, either in person or at: [email protected] no later than Thursday, April 24, 2025 at noon. Resumes or other materials supporting your qualifications may also be submitted.

The Town Commission will review applicants and make an appointment.
