The Black Skimmers, almost 250, are currently settling behind the Redington Towers condos. This location is a few buildings south of the public beach access, and is a nice wide beach that would be safe from storms and overwash. This colony will be posted with signs and rope and will be monitored by stewards of the Tampa Bay Area Audubon Society.  As an extra precaution to keep nests safe, the beach access next to Redington Towers will be temporarily closed.
