The Town of Redington Shores Building Department is excited to announce a new Express Permit Process to streamline “like-for-like” replacements for our residents. This new system is designed to bypass the standard review timelines for simple mechanical and plumbing upgrades, helping you get your essential home systems back up and running faster.
What qualifies for an Express Permit?
This expedited process is exclusively for “like-for-like” replacements of the following equipment:
- Water Heaters
- Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems
Important Eligibility Note: To qualify for the Express Permit, the equipment being replaced must not have been damaged by flood. Projects involving storm or flood-related damage will still require standard permitting and FEMA substantial damage assessments to ensure compliance with flood zone regulations.

How to Prepare
While this process is “coming soon,” residents and contractors can prepare by ensuring they have their contractor licenses validated with the Town and are registered on our digital portal.
