Pinellas County is helping the Town of Redington Shores secure funding and grants to nourish and maintain our beaches by collecting photos, videos, and memories that show residents and visitors have enjoyed our beaches over the years.
This supports a customary use ordinance – which recognizes and protects the public’s long-standing right to use the beach.
When the public has openly, continuously , and historically used an area – without interruption or dispute – that use can create a public right to:
- walk the beach
- sit on the dry sand
- fish, swim & recreate
What You Can Share
- Family photographs or videos at the beach
- Â Historical postcards & brochures
- Newspaper articles or publications
- Written or oral personal recollections
- Any documents showing long-term public beach use
We can notarize your affidavit for FREE at Town Hall, Mondays-Fridays, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.Â

You can go to pinellas.gov/customary-use to submit your photos or story. Drop a pin on the map, add details, and upload your photos and/or story.
