The Town of Redington Shores is entering a new chapter of leadership as Mayor Tom Kapper retires from public service after many years of dedicated involvement in town government. Kapper, who has served both as Mayor and previously as a Town Commissioner, has been a steady, community‑focused presence in Redington Shores’ civic life and we thank him for his service.
With Mayor Kapper’s retirement, the Town Commission has appointed Vice Mayor and District 3 Commissioner Erin Schoos to serve as the new Mayor of Redington Shores. Schoos will complete the current term, which is up for reelection in November 2027. Schoos, who has represented District 3 with energy and accessibility, steps into the role with a strong understanding of the town’s priorities and a deep connection to the community she serves.
As she assumes the mayoral seat, Mayor Schoos is expected to continue the town’s focus on responsible governance, coastal stewardship, and maintaining the welcoming, small‑town atmosphere that defines Redington Shores. Her experience on the Commission positions her to guide the town through ongoing projects and future opportunities. Congratulations Mayor Schoos!
